Tool details checked on against each tool's own public pages.
Disclosure: RugSignal wrote this page, and the RugSignal scanner is one of the six tools compared. The page does not rank the tools or name a winner; it records what each tool states on its own public pages, so you can pick by the job you need done.
Which Solana rug checker fits which job?
There is no single best rug checker, so pick by the job. For a quick, familiar score on a Solana token: RugCheck. For a score with sniper, bundler and insider flags next to market data in one API: Solana Tracker. For tracing top-holder connections and wallet performance: SolSniffer. For the same style of token flags across Solana and EVM chains through an API: GoPlus Security. For multi-chain memecoin scans with launch-bundle and wallet-network modules: DeFade. For per-check sources and observation times, with unresolved checks kept as unknown: RugSignal. Whatever you use, check the same mint in at least two tools and open the evidence where they disagree.
How the tools were compared
Each cell in the table was taken on 2026-10-29 from the tool's own public website, documentation or terms, listed in the sources at the end. "Not stated" means we did not find the point on the tool's own pages; the tool may still do it. "Could not be checked" means the page blocked our check. Third-party reviews, listicles and archived copies were not used as evidence. RugSignal's row comes from its own documentation. Nothing here tests accuracy: no tool was scored on how often it is right, and RugSignal does not claim to be more accurate than any tool listed.
Comparison table (checked 2026-10-29)
Columns: free scan without a wallet; chains; whether results state each check's source and observation time; launch-slot or bundle analysis; holder clusters and any caveat that linked wallets may not share an owner; Token-2022 extensions; API; a stated limitations or disclaimer page; and which way the score points. Scroll the table sideways on a phone.
| Tool | Free scan without a wallet | Chains | Source and time per check | Launch-slot or bundle analysis | Holder clusters and caveat | Token-2022 extensions | API | Limitations or disclaimer | Score direction |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| RugCheck | Free stated; wallet or sign-in not stated | Solana and Fogo | Report breaks down key risks; per-check source and time not stated | Not stated | Insider networks shown; described as accounts owned by the same person or group, no caveat stated | Enabled extensions and transfer-fee details in the report | Free (cached, 1 request per second) and paid plans | Not stated | Higher = more risk (0–100 normalized) |
| Solana Tracker Rugcheck | Not stated | Solana | Point-in-time snapshot stated; per-check source not stated | Snipers, bundlers and first buyers flagged | Insider (connected) wallets flagged; notes labels do not establish intent | Not stated | Free tier and paid plans | Terms: scores are not guarantees of safety | Higher = more risk (1–10) |
| SolSniffer | Not stated | Solana | Holder transfers traceable to transaction hashes; otherwise not stated | Not stated | Top-holder clusters and insider connections; no caveat stated | Not stated | API service offered; pricing could not be checked | Could not be checked | Not stated |
| GoPlus Security | Not stated | Solana (beta), Sui, EVM chains and Tron | Not stated | Not stated | No clusters described; top holders with tags | Transfer fee, transfer hook, default account state, non-transferable and more | Free plan (100 credits per minute) and custom Pro plan | Checker note: no 100% guarantee, reference only | No single score; risky and attention items |
| DeFade | No wallet; a free account gets 3 scans a day | Solana, Ethereum, Base, BSC and 4 more | Each module can be opened and inspected; per-check time not stated | Launch-slot bundles and block-one snipers | Sybil bands and insider network (Pro); bands described as one actor, no caveat stated | Token-2022 extensions such as transfer fees | Paid plans from $35 a month; free 7-day trial key | Terms: heuristic scores may give false positives or negatives | Higher = more dangerous (0–100) |
| RugSignal | Yes: basic scans need no wallet or sign-in | Solana only | Each check names its source and observation time | Launch-slot buyers for verified Pump.fun and Meteora DBC launches; lower bound otherwise | Sampled clusters; states that linked wallets do not prove common ownership | Known extensions, including transfer fee, transfer hook and permanent delegate | Risk API preview; live access needs approval | Accuracy and methodology pages | Higher = more risk (55 and above is Severe) |
RugCheck
RugCheck (rugcheck.xyz) scans Solana and Fogo tokens for scam signals, holder concentration, liquidity risks, insider activity and metadata. Its API documentation describes a score normalized to 0–100 where higher means more risk. It shows insider networks, which its documentation describes as groups of accounts owned by the same person or group, and its report lists enabled Token-2022 extensions. Free and paid APIs are documented; the free API serves cached reports at one request per second. Best suited to a quick, familiar first read of a Solana token and to developers who want a documented free API.
Solana Tracker Rugcheck
Solana Tracker's Rugcheck runs twenty security checks on a Solana token and gives a risk score from 1 to 10, where its documentation says higher means higher risk. Its documented risk factors include snipers, bundlers, insiders, holder concentration, LP burn or lock, and mint and freeze authority. The same checks are available through its Data API, which has a free tier and paid plans, and its documentation calls a score a point-in-time screening signal, not a guarantee. Best suited to traders who already use Solana Tracker and to developers who want risk flags next to market data in one API.
SolSniffer
SolSniffer analyses Solana tokens, wallets and markets. Its user guide describes a holder analysis that tags clusters of wallets with transfers to and from a top holder and lets you fetch the transaction hashes behind those transfers, plus a wallet tool for win rates and profit and loss. It offers its data as an API service and has a Telegram bot. Its main website blocked our automated check on 2026-10-29, so its terms and current pricing could not be confirmed. Best suited to researchers who want to trace holder connections and wallet performance on Solana.
GoPlus Security
GoPlus Security provides token security APIs for many EVM chains, Tron and Sui, with a Solana API labelled beta. For Solana it returns per-check flags rather than one score, including SPL-2022 features such as transfer fees, transfer hooks, default account state and non-transferable tokens, plus the top holders and LP holders with tags. A free plan allows 100 call credits per minute, and its checker notes that no check is a 100% guarantee. Best suited to developers and wallets that need the same style of token flags across several chains.
DeFade
DeFade describes itself as a multi-chain memecoin analyzer covering Solana, Ethereum, Base, BSC and four other chains. Its Solana page lists launch-slot bundles, block-one snipers and authorities including Token-2022 extensions, with Pro modules for insider networks and wallet clusters, and a 0–100 score where higher means more dangerous. Scanning needs no wallet; a free account gets three scans a day, and its API is paid with a free trial key. Best suited to people who scan memecoins on several chains and want launch and wallet-network modules in one place.
RugSignal
RugSignal is the Solana token scanner on this site; basic scans are free. Each check names its source and observation time, unresolved checks stay unknown instead of passing, and the launcher, launch-slot buyers and liquidity control are read from the token's own creation transaction and pool accounts where the launchpad or pool is supported. It covers Solana only, and its Risk API is a preview that needs approval. Its score, where higher means more risk, is a policy summary rather than a fraud probability. Best suited to checking why a Solana token was flagged and which parts are still unknown.
Why the same token gets different scores
Scores are not on a common scale. RugCheck documents a 0–100 score and Solana Tracker a 1–10 score where higher means more risk, DeFade describes its 0–100 number as a rug pull probability, GoPlus gives flags without a single number, and RugSignal's score is a weighted policy summary. Each tool chooses its own checks, weights and thresholds, reads chain state at a different moment, and treats pools, burn addresses and curve custody differently when it measures holders. Two tools can read the same token honestly and still disagree, so compare the individual findings, not the numbers.

What no rug checker can tell you
No rug checker can tell you whether a team will abandon a project, whether demand will last, or what price you will be able to sell at later. These tools read on-chain state, and some read off-chain data, at one moment, so a clean result means no listed warning was found then, not that the token is safe. This comparison did not test accuracy. Read any score as the tool's own policy summary rather than a measured probability, unless the tool publishes how it was validated.

Frequently asked questions
Which Solana rug checker is the best?
It depends on the job, and this page does not rank the tools. Compare what each one states in the table against what you need, and check the same mint in at least two tools. Comparison table (checked 2026-10-29)
Is RugCheck accurate?
We know of no independent accuracy benchmark for RugCheck that we can cite. Its documented score is a weighted sum of named risks where higher means more risk, so read the named risks behind it rather than the number alone. Why the same token gets different scores
Is there a free Solana rug checker?
Yes. Several of these tools state free checks or free API tiers, including RugCheck, and RugSignal's basic scans need no wallet, sign-in or payment. The table shows what each tool states about free use. Comparison table (checked 2026-10-29)
What is a RugCheck alternative for Pump.fun launches?
Look for a tool that reports launch-slot or bundle buyers: in the table, Solana Tracker, DeFade and RugSignal state this. The Pump.fun bundle checker guide explains how to read that figure. Pump.fun bundle checker guide
